The celebration begins in devotion with Lakshmi Puja and Havan, honoring Mother Lakshmi and the triumph of light, knowledge, and goodness. From there, faith moves into the streets as cars, trucks and floats become glowing works of art, illuminating Liberty Avenue through Little Guyana.
Tassa drumming, live music, dance and cultural performances fill Queens with Indo-Caribbean energy as families, temples, artists and neighbors gather in joy.
More than an event, the Diwali Motorcade is a living celebration of who we are, the heritage we carry and the light we pass from one generation to the next.
